DESIGN PROBLEM
Create a warm, fresh, and cohesive brand identity for a new organic cooking and lifestyle brand that cuts through an oversaturated market with an approachable, stylish, and grounded presence.
DESIGN SOLUTION
To bring the Sage & Stir brand to life, I developed a versatile visual identity that feels both grounded and refined. The logo system combines elegant typography with organic iconography to reflect the brand’s focus on natural cooking and intentional living. A warm, muted color palette and minimal yet expressive layouts reinforce a sense of calm and approachability. Together, these elements create a cohesive and elevated brand presence that stands out with clarity and confidence—while remaining deeply rooted in authenticity and simplicity.
CONCEPT 1
The Sage & Stir logo captures an elegant, organic aesthetic that reflects the brand’s commitment to natural living. The serif typeface and stylized ampersand create a refined, handcrafted feel, while supporting elements like “Organic Lifestyle” and “Nourish Naturally” reinforce the brand ethos with a balanced, modern layout. An earthy palette of olive and charcoal grounds the identity. To refine the mark, subtle typographic adjustments were made—tightening kerning, softening the ampersand’s weight, and improving the legibility of “EST. 2015.” Minor spacing refinements helped the logo feel more breathable and cohesive. These updates enhance the logo’s versatility while maintaining its natural, elevated tone.
CONCEPT 2
This arched variation of the Sage & Stir logo introduces a sense of movement and energy while maintaining the brand’s refined aesthetic. The upward curve of the logotype adds approachability and warmth, supported by a balanced layout featuring the founding year split by a soft olive ampersand. “Organic Lifestyle” and “Nourish Naturally” frame the mark, reinforcing the brand's values in a clean, contemporary style. This version offers a fresh, dynamic alternative ideal for applications where a bit more character or visual flow is desired—while still remaining true to the brand.
CONCEPT 3
This third logo for Sage & Stir serves as a versatile brand mark ideal for packaging, stamps, and digital icons. The circular badge emphasizes the tagline “Nourish Naturally Since 2015,” reinforcing the brand’s organic roots and longevity. The monogram “S / S” is clean, balanced, and modern, separated by a subtle olive divider that adds visual structure and ties back to the brand’s earthy palette. This mark offers flexibility across applications while maintaining brand consistency and recognizability in scaled-down or minimal contexts.
FINAL DESIGN
The final Sage & Stir logo embraces a timeless, nature-inspired identity with a modern organic elegance. Set in a sophisticated serif typeface, the stacked logotype allows for a balanced composition that feels grounded yet graceful. The stylized leaf icon, integrated with a subtle dot detail, visually represents growth, nourishment, and the natural ingredients at the heart of the brand. Rendered in a rich sage green, the mark captures the brand’s essence—calm, clean, and rooted in wellness. This final version offers maximum versatility and clarity across print, packaging, and digital applications while remaining true to Sage & Stir’s core values of simplicity and sustainability.

The Story of Sage & Stir
When Sage & Stir approached me to help craft their new brand identity, the vision was clear: create a thoughtful, nature-rooted identity that inspires intentional living while standing out in a saturated lifestyle and wellness market.
The resulting visual identity is centered around a calm, editorial aesthetic that reflects the brand’s core values—simplicity, sustainability, and seasonal living. The logo combines an elegant serif typeface with a hand-illustrated sprig of sage, capturing the harmony of modern refinement and natural elements.
To add personality and authenticity, I developed a series of brand elements including botanical illustrations, soft textures, and a warm, earthy color palette inspired by terracotta, linen, and fresh herbs. These visuals evoke a feeling of calm, grounded beauty—perfectly suited to Sage & Stir’s mission of nourishing naturally.
The identity system is intentionally flexible, featuring multiple logo lock-ups (including a monogram and herb icon), a thoughtful typography pairing, and scalable graphic accents for packaging, digital platforms, and print collateral.
This branding project embodies the spirit of Sage & Stir: rooted in the earth, styled for the modern home, and crafted with purpose. The result is a brand that feels both fresh and timeless—just like the recipes and rituals it celebrates.
