Rough Creek Lodge, Ranch & Resort

At Rough Creek Lodge, Ranch & Resort, I served as the in-house marketing lead and designer for a premier luxury ranch resort destination in the heart of Texas. My role balanced high-level marketing strategy with hands-on design execution, enabling me to develop a full suite of print and digital assets that elevated the brand across multiple platforms.

Working closely with leadership, sales, and departmental heads, I led the creative direction for campaigns supporting lodging, weddings, corporate retreats, holiday promotions, and culinary experiences. I was responsible for crafting tailored messaging and visuals that spoke to Rough Creek's high-end, rustic identity, while also driving bookings and engagement.

Website & Digital Strategy

Rough Creek Lodge’s website served as a key platform for showcasing seasonal experiences, driving bookings, and introducing guests to the resort’s elevated offerings. In my role, I collaborated with leadership to audit and enhance core web pages — ensuring they reflected the brand’s luxury identity while addressing the evolving needs of our diverse audience.

One of my primary initiatives was the redesign of the Massage & Facial webpage. Drawing on guest feedback and usability best practices, I restructured the layout to improve readability, mobile responsiveness, and visual engagement. I streamlined the navigation, introduced branded section headers, and organized service information into easily digestible blocks — making the user experience smoother, especially for mobile-first visitors. The addition of serene, high-resolution imagery helped reinforce the spa’s calming, high-end atmosphere.

Another key project was the creation of a Guest Itinerary webpage — a curated guide designed to help guests envision their stays, whether for a weekend getaway or extended vacation. I developed sample itineraries tailored to various trip lengths and interests, incorporating key resort activities, dining highlights, and relaxation moments. This page helped guests better plan their time onsite and deepened engagement with the property’s full range of offerings.

Additionally, I designed a refreshed main landing page mockup to serve as a forward-looking concept for the resort’s homepage. My goal was to introduce a more editorial, story-driven experience that guided users to major categories like lodging, dining, activities, and weddings. Featuring bold hero photography, grid-based content blocks, and clear calls to action, the design offered a modern yet rustic feel aligned with the Rough Creek brand.

Throughout each of these projects, I focused on clarity, emotional resonance, and design consistency. The mockups and webpage enhancements served as collaborative tools for ongoing discussions with marketing and operations — ultimately helping to shape a more cohesive, intuitive digital presence for the resort.

Email & Digital Ads

From concept to deployment, I developed and executed high-impact email marketing campaigns using Mailchimp, targeting segmented audiences including past guests, couples, families, and corporate event planners. Campaigns ranged from seasonal promotions and exclusive offers to experience-driven spotlights highlighting unique amenities and events. Each email was designed with custom graphics, strategic messaging, and clear calls to action — aligning with Rough Creek’s brand voice and driving measurable engagement. In addition to email, I supported the creation of digital ad assets for remarketing and social promotions, helping to amplify reach and conversion across multiple touchpoints.

Print Collateral & Sales Materials

I designed a broad range of print materials to support Rough Creek Lodge’s sales and marketing efforts — including wedding brochures, residential rental flyers, curated dining menus, and custom resort maps. Each piece was thoughtfully crafted to reflect the brand’s elevated Texas rustic aesthetic, with attention to typography, layout, and material quality. I worked closely with internal stakeholders and external print vendors to ensure brand consistency, color accuracy, and high production standards, helping to deliver a cohesive guest experience both on and off property.

Social Media & Content Creation

To support Rough Creek Lodge’s digital presence, I led the ideation, design, and scheduling of strategic social media content across Instagram and Facebook. My work focused on elevating the brand’s voice through cohesive visual storytelling, showcasing everything from luxury accommodations and chef-curated culinary features to seasonal promotions, family-friendly activities, and exclusive behind-the-scenes moments. Through a mix of curated photography, branded templates, and real-time content, I helped boost engagement, strengthen brand consistency, and increase follower interaction across platforms.
